DESCRIPTION
The RF1501A micro pulse laser rangefinder module has a ranging capacity of ≥1500m, weighs ≤20g, and measures ≤φ23mm×46mm in size. It communicates through a TTL communication interface and is a precision photoelectric product that emits laser to the target under test. It calculates distance information based on the laser flight time. This module exhibits excellent performance and offers simple operation.

2.1 Working band
LRF1501A in the work of ranging laser in the 905nm ± 5nm band, ranging machine work is prohibited to look directly at the ranging machine laser, so as not to cause unnecessary personal injury.
2.2 Ranging ability
In the visibility ≥ 5Km environment, the building test, the laser rangefinder can reach more than 1500m range, and quasi-detection rate of more than 98%, which is also a key indicator to determine whether the laser rangefinder rangefinding ability to qualify. Figure 4 shows the relationship between the range and visibility of the laser rangefinder in the theoretical case.
Figure 4 Laser rangefinder range versus visibility
Factors such as target reflectivity and measurement angle will affect the ranging capability. Usually, the higher the target reflectivity, the better the ranging ability; the more vertical the laser angle to the measurement of the target reflective surface, the better the ranging ability. In practical applications, as far as possible to make the rangefinder laser vertical to the target surface, for high and medium reflectivity targets, such as traffic signs and other targets, the ability of the laser rangefinder performance can also be better. However, for targets that are difficult to form a diffuse reflection, such as water surface, the laser rangefinder may not be able to measure accurately (for water surface measurement needs, our company has relevant models to meet, please inquire).
2.3 Ranging blind spot
Laser rangefinders may not be able to accurately measure targets within 10 meters, which is its blind spot. Toplight does not recommend users to test the targets in the blind zone of the rangefinder, because the laser rangefinder has a strong echo to the targets in the blind zone, which may lead to a reduction of the detector life of the laser rangefinder or a decrease in the ranging ability, especially for the test of the targets in the blind zone of the high albedo targets, and it may even lead to permanent damage to the detector. Therefore, when the laser rangefinder is under close working conditions such as commissioning, please cover the receiving lens.
2.4 Ranging accuracy
For the quasi-detection rate ≥ 98% of the target, the accuracy error of the laser rangefinder can reach ≤ (1 + L × 0.25%) m. Note: L is the target distance.
2.5 Ranging Frequency
The laser rangefinder can realize three different frequency requirements by sending different commands: single ranging, 1Hz ranging and 2Hz ranging, and the corresponding ranging commands and operation instructions are shown in 1.5.
2.6 Product weight
The whole weight of the laser rangefinder module is ≤20g.
2.7 External Dimensions
The maximum external dimensions of the laser rangefinder are ≤φ23mm×46mm.
2.8 Power supply voltage
The power supply voltage of the laser rangefinder is recommended to be 3.3V, and the pull-off voltage can be as high as 2.5V~3.5V.
2.9 Power Consumption
Standby power consumption of the laser rangefinder: ≤ 0.6W@3.3V, working power consumption: ≤ 0.8W@3.3V. Different working conditions will have a certain effect on the power, as far as possible to make the laser rangefinder in a safe working environment.
2.10 Environmental adaptability
The laser rangefinder is designed for normal operation at -20℃~+50℃. Top Optoelectronics recommends that the rangefinder be operated or stored in a dry environment at room temperature. High or low temperatures may cause the rangefinder to lose some of its capabilities, and in particular, the rangefinder should be avoided in environments where the temperature changes drastically, as this may reduce the service life of the rangefinder or cause it to malfunction.
