Functional Description
The system supports single measurement and continuous measurement functions.
1.Baud Rate Configuration
Allows modification of the serial communication baud rate.
2.Single Measurement
Trigger a single distance measurement on the target. For targets with low reflectivity, the module will automatically repeat measurements until stable distance data is acquired, and then report the results via serial port in accordance with the standard data format.
3.Continuous Measurement
Under the continuous measurement mode, the laser module will perform continuous distance measurement on objects. The typical refresh rate can be set to 2Hz, and the maximum refresh rate can reach 15Hz.

OUTLINE DIMENSION

Product Description
SPD1200H2 Laser Ranging Module
The SPD1200H2 series is a new high-precision compact laser ranging module operating at a central wavelength of 905nm. It delivers a measurement range from 0.2m to 1200m, extendable to 1500m at night, with ranging accuracy better than ±0.3m within 100m and ±0.3m+d×0.7‰ beyond 100m. The ranging refresh rate adapts between 2Hz and 15Hz, with a hit rate no less than 98% and a false alarm rate below 1%. The module employs a UART-TTL communication interface with a default baud rate of 115200bps, supporting configurable rates from 9600bps to 230400bps, and comes with test software and protocol documentation for convenient secondary development. Operating on a 3.3V to 5V supply, the module draws approximately 0.45W on average with peak power consumption under 0.75W and a startup time within 200ms, making it ideal for integration into low-power embedded platforms.
Measuring Φ17×28.2mm (square form factor) and weighing no more than 6g, the module features a 5.0mm×7mm receiving aperture with aspheric lens optics and a laser divergence angle below 6mrad. It supports both single-shot and continuous measurement modes: single-shot mode automatically repeats measurement on low-reflectivity targets until stable data is obtained, while continuous mode offers a configurable refresh rate, typically 2Hz and up to 15Hz. An optional angle sensor enables angle measurement functionality. Built-in power-on self-test automatically reports initialization status and error codes, and an LD always-on debug mode assists developers with beam alignment. The electrical interface uses a 6-pin layout including power, TXD, RXD, and an SW-SHOT function enable pin (active high, compatible with active low requirements).
For reliability, the lens cavity achieves IP67 protection, and the laser safety classification complies with IEC CLASS I. The operating temperature ranges from -20°C to +60°C with storage temperatures from -30°C to +70°C. The module withstands 1000g/ms shock (optical axis direction, 10 pulses per second) and 5Hz to 50Hz to 5Hz swept vibration at 1 octave per minute and 2.5g, with a mean time between failures (MTBF) of no less than 1500 hours.
Leveraging its ultra-compact size, lightweight design, and low power consumption, the SPD1200H2 is widely integrated into handheld devices such as night vision goggles, thermal imagers, binoculars, and laser illuminators for auxiliary ranging, and is equally suited for applications in border security surveillance, aviation, communications, railway, law enforcement, smart water management, and outdoor sports.
