Laser products are warranted to conform to ERDI’ s published specifications and to be free from defects in materials and workman-ship for a period of twelve months starting on the shipping date. ERDI will repair or replace (at our decision) ASAP without charge, any part(s) found to be defective during the warranty period.
Our warranties do not cover damages due to misuse, negligence or accidents or due to installations, repairs or adjustments not authorized by ERD.
If a problem occurs and can’t be solved by phone, fax, or email, you may return products to ERDI. Please contact us for a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number prior to shipping the laser. We’ll provide you details on shipping and customs information with the RMA number. All lasers and components should be carefully packed to avoid damage during shipment.
Basic Composition and Pumping Mechanism
The LD (Laser Diode) pumped erbium-doped glass laser is a solid-state laser that uses erbium-doped (Er3+) glass as the gain medium and a semiconductor laser as the pumping source. Its core working principle is as follows
Pumping Source: The laser diode (LD) emits light of a specific wavelength (usually 940 nm). It excites the erbium ions to the metastable high-energy level through direct absorption or indirect energy transfer.
Gain Medium: During the stimulated emission process, the Er3+ ions in the erbium-doped glass transition from the 4I13/2 energy level to the ground state (4I15/2), releasing laser light with a wavelength of approximately 1.535 μm.
Resonant Cavity: It is composed of a high-reflectivity mirror and a partially reflective mirror. Through multiple reflections, it amplifies the photons and forms a coherent laser output.
Characteristics of the Eye-Safe Wavelength Band
The output wavelength of the erbium-doped glass laser is around 1.5 μm, which falls within the near-infrared wavelength band. This wavelength is classified as "eye-safe" (Class 1M) according to international standards. Because the photon energy at this wavelength is relatively low, and it is easily absorbed by the anterior structures of the eyeball (such as the cornea and the lens), it can avoid causing damage to the retina. It is particularly suitable for applications in open environments.
1535nm Erbium Glass High Repetition Frequency Diode Pumped Solid State Laser
The High Repetition Frequency 1535 nm laser developed and manufactured by ERDI adopts self – developed erbium laser glass and mature bonded – body packaging technology (bonded crystal based on Er: glass and Co: spinel), so it is also known as the 1535 nm micro – chip laser. This laser is Class 1 eye – safe. Because the 1535 nm laser is more easily absorbed by the human eye compared to other lasers, such as the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser. Currently, our High Repetition Frequency offers a pulsed laser energy of 5 – 70 μJ and a frequency range of 500Hz – 5kHz. Lighter in weight and smaller in size, the 1535 nm laser operates in the infrared range and is widely used as the laser light source for lightweight LiDAR sensors and laser rangefinders.
1.54μm MINI 100uJ Erbium Laser Glass Pulsed Solid-State Laser
The 1535nm erbium – doped glass laser of ERDI uses co – doped Er:Yb phosphate glass and a semiconductor laser pumping source to generate a wavelength of 1.5μm. It belongs to a Class 1 eye – safe laser, featuring a small size and light weight. The pulse energy of this series of lasers ranges from 100 μJ , and the Pulse repetition rate is 1 – 10Hz. In laser ranging and LiDAR, especially in outdoor environments where long – distance optical transmission is required, this kind of DPSS laser is essential.
1535nm 100uJ Erbium Glass Pulsed Solid-State Laser
The 1535nm erbium – doped glass laser of ERDI uses co – doped Er:Yb phosphate glass and a semiconductor laser pumping source to generate a wavelength of 1.5μm. It belongs to a Class 1 eye – safe laser, featuring a small size and light weight. The pulse energy of this series of lasers ranges from 100 μJ , and the Pulse repetition rate is 1 – 10Hz. In laser ranging and LiDAR, especially in outdoor environments where long – distance optical transmission is required, this kind of DPSS laser is essential.
1.54μm Erbium Glass Microchip DPSS Laser 200 μJ
The wavelength of this 1535nm laser is just between the eye safety window and the atmospheric window. The pulse energy of this eye-safe laser is ≥200μJ, which can achieve a ranging range of 3-8 kilometers. In addition, it is also widely used in laser target indication, laser ranging, laser lighting, solid-state laser rangefinder, laser radar system, laser medical treatment and optical fiber communication.

ERDI has developed and produced a 1535nm Microchip Laser Module that incorporates a proprietary erbium-doped glass with a refractive index of 1.54 µm and doping concentrations of erbium (0.1–3.0) × 10¹⁹ and ytterbium (1.5–3.0) × 10²¹, resulting in a fluorescence lifetime of 8–10 ms. It is widely used in applications such as laser ranging, laser irradiation, LIDAR, target recognition, laser medicine, and fiber optic communication.
