Micromachining and material processing are done with nanosecond lasers and their ability to deliver precise energy control. They are used for drilling, cutting, and structuring materials at micro and macro scales. Applications include PCB drilling, semiconductor processing, thin-film patterning, and precision cutting of foils and sheets.

Nanosecond lasers are increasingly used for laser cleaning, where contaminants such as rust, paint, oil, and oxides are removed without damaging the base material. This non-contact, chemical-free process is gaining traction in manufacturing, heritage restoration, and aerospace maintenance.
